anyone with a built aod come on in
what's a good all inclusive rebuild kit that i can put into my tired aod to make it handle 550ft lbs?
i was looking at the kits on this site: AOD Transmission from PATC, AOD Transmissions kit #k5, and would i need the hardened shaft they offer also(#k5s)?. would these two things along with a nice converter be enough for my power goals? if not what else would i need? i'd really like something that's all inclussive. and help with parts is greatly appreciated .

I've never heard of that company before.
My buddy has a 89 GT, with a pretty stout 427w, backed by the orignal AOD. A local trans shop built the trans with Raybestos Blue clutches & Kevlar band. It also has a Art Carr hardened one peice input shaft, Trans Go AOD-HP shift kit and a Precision Stallion 2800 stall converter. It's been in the car for 4+ years and gets run pretty hard. Runs mid 11's with ease! Art Carr, Lentech, & Performance Automatic all have a pretty good reputation with AOD's.
