which ar15 did you have? I have a bushmaster and just picked up a mossburg too
One thing I learned with cars is that whatever you figure it's going to cost you... double it |

Hey dude, don't blow all you're money on whiskey and women-- oh wait there is none of that! Just kidding, hope you make it back safe to build a fun car. Unless you've built cars before, I would beware of building a motor that is out of your experience level. Power is no fun when it's sitting in your garage with a hole in the block. Also, the rest of the car has to be able to cope with that power, which you are talking about tripling over stock output. You would need to put almost the same cash into suspension, clutches, transmissions, and rear axle components as you would the engine itself. I would aim for more like 375-475 hp, which can happen easily with a stock bottom end. Choosing the right cylinder heads will enable you to run enough cam to really wake up a stock 5.0. You also need a good enough intake and throttle body to support the additional airflow offered by aftermarket heads. Keeping the stock bottom end, prepare to spend $1100 give or take on heads, 150-250 on roller rockers and pushrods, $150 in gaskets, 350-550 on intake manifold, 150 throttle body, 250 for cam and timing chain set, 160 for cold air kit, 90 for pulley kit, 500 for upgraded 24# injectors and matching maf sensor, and at least a 1000 for proper exhaust system. I'm assuming it's fuel injected, right? The year of the car is also extremely important if you are planning a build. Is it a mass-air equipped car?

I'm in the same boat. I hated foxes when they were new but now that I realize how much fun they are.... I just can't help it.
