So after 4 K Members ( 1st one stock, 2nd and 3rd UPR, and 4th Stock replacement from MPS) and 2 Sets of A Arms (both UPR), The wheels are still too far forward. So I have no idea any more. It is very disheartening though and I am really upset...

What about adjustable a arms? These are the ones I have and you're supposed to be able to move the front wheel location forward or backward up to an inch, I believe. I put them on my car in the fall and the snow flew before I got it adjusted and the fenders back on so I have no idea how well they work in that kind of situation, but it's a thought. These are Team Z ones. Maybe call and talk to Dave and see what his thoughts are on this. He's got a ton of experience with mustang suspension.

i had to replace the column because it had a 89 and before column with tilt and my 90 steering wheel on it. had MPS send me another steering linkage just to make sure mine wasn't modified and it wasn't. installed everything and the tires are to far foward and the linkage won't meet up.

no insurance on the car cause i haven't had this issue resolved since months ago

How about everyone wrap their minds around this:
Stock Wheel base = 100.5 inches
My wheel base = 100.5 inches

tires rub fenders and steering linkage won't touch rack and pinion?

wrong fenders?
wrong steering colum?

according to MPS, 90-93 steering colums and steering linkages where all the same. i got both from them for my 90 GT.
according to MPS, i have the correct fender and GT front of fender ground effects piece for my 90 GT because the ground effects piece on the inside of it actually touches the fender, where as on the 91-93, the inside of that ground effects piece does not touch the fender and my part number on my ground effects piece starts with E7ZB. According to MPS this is for 90 and before GT's.

So, let me know what you guys come up with. UPR, MPS, and myself have are out of ideas at this point and time.

Steering colum collaps's down towards the rag joint. Try pulling it out. Probably have to use some penetrating oil on it.

How about you just put 91-93 front ground effects on it and call it a day? Gives about 3/4" more clearance up front, had to do this same thing on my 88 GT with a UPR k. Just a suggestion, you probably already thought of it.

FastStang91LX:
i checked the steering column by pulling it back out and i could not see where the shaft would come out any further. there is a set of bearings where the shaft comes out of the column. i can pull the whole column out in about 15-20 mins if you tell me exactly what i am looking for. thanks for your help.

nxcoupe:
91-93 ground effects pieces would not solve it because the ground effects i have right now are matted up to the fender with no gap in between. the tire is actually an 1/8 of an inch past the fender itself. thanks for the suggestion. was that the only car you used UPR on?

Right above the joint below the nut and bolt. I think that's where it moves at? Or somewhere on the inside.

I accidentally pushed mine in some when I was pulling mine apart to put my headers in, had to yank it back out to reconnect. I think that's where it moved, but maybe the nut and bolt hold the joint on, now that I look at it more. It does collapse somewhere though.

The more I look at that pic, the more I think it collapse's under the dash part. I didn't remember the nut and bolt when I posted my earlier remark.

FastStang91LX:
Ill pull the steering column tomorrow and check it again and Ill let you know. Thanks for the help.

ryanw:
IF the frame was bent to where is pushed the wheels 1 1/2 inches forward, then I don't think the wheel base would still be 100.5 inches which is factory speck. i am getting that measurement from center of the dust cap to the center of the rear wheel.

Sorry it has been so long since I last wrote. So far, what I have come up with, is that the rear end of the car was sitting to high. I lowered 1 1/2 inches and that kept the tire from hitting the metal part of the fender. I then moved the front portion of the fender outward away from the car using the metal brace that conects the fender to the front core support. I will still have to trim the ground effects piece just a little. Before I do that, I am going to try and lower the rear end of the car some more and see what that does.

How are the gaps in the doors/fenders? If the front end was resprayed, maybe new aprons and core support not welded right?
