1995 Mustang GT Makeover

Hello,

New guy here that needs some advice. Here's the story. No matter what kind of brand new car I offer to get her, my wife just won't part with her old Mustang. She even turned down a 911. So basically I'm stuck restoring and up-grading her old car. She got the car in 1995, and it's GT 5.0 HO and I think the only thing she's ever changed on it is the battery.

I figured I'll start things off with a new suspension, braking system, and wheels.

I was wondering if anybody here could advise me on what to get. That car is going to have some serious HP in it when finished, so I need the suspension...etc to be able to handle that nicely. Not trying to have the wife kill herself here. If can name a brand...etc it's perfect. I'm looking for the best of the best.

Also, does anybody can recommend a good car shop / car garage where I can have all the work I can't do myself done nicely. We moved to Orange County, California not long ago and don't know anything about the area yet.

Thank you very much for any help you can give me on this.

All the best

Ced

Well first off welcome to MM.

Suspention:
Upper and Lower Control Arm (Tublar/Adjustable)
1.5 inch drop Eibach springs or 2.5 inch drop (you'll need C/C plates if you go 2.5 or any lower, I did 1.5 and it looks great)
Strut Brace Bar
Subframe connector (weld on's)

Brake System:
You can upgrade to the 2000 Cobra brake system with some nice spotted cross drill rotors.

Wheels:
Your chose basically, you can go chrome or black or Deep Dish, personally I'll do deep dish.

Front:
18x9 rim size with 275/35/18's or 245/45/18's
Back:
18x10 rim size with 315/30/18's (you'll have to remove the quad shocks, make sure you do upper and lower control arms first before you remove quad shocks)

What do you consider serious HP? 500HP? 400? are you looking to Turbo, Supercharged, or natural insp?

PS: Do gears if its 5 Speed 3.73, and if its AOD I think people here goes with 4.10 consider how much high way driving you will do though first.

I'm sure more people will drop in their 2cent here.

Good Luck

Thanks a lot.

I think the wife said she wants her car black on black, but i'll show her pics of the deep dishes just to make sure.

As for horse power, I haven't really started to think about it yet, but she said she wants her car to be faster than the Saleens she sees here and there. So that scares me a little I got to say. I'm even thinking of putting in a roll-cage. Anyway, I'm probably gonna go with a Powerdyne blower 9 PSI or something along those line, replacing the upper and lower intake by something better - don't know what yet-, same with the cam, heads, header, throttle body, pulleys. Upgrade the entire engine. So I'm thinking better safe than sorry, I want the suspension to be able to handle 500 hp no problem, no flex and no surprises of any kind handling wise.

I hope people will drop their 2cent, like you said the more info the better.

Thanks

You def need SubFrame connectors, upper and lower control arms and a front K-member.

You might want to look into a 351 Block, and work up from there, even though the stock 302 can handle 500HP, or can bore it to 347.

As for Heads Cam and Intake.
Holley System Max 2, or TFS Track Heat its a complete top end kit.

PM "Darrell" he'll get you all the sh*t you need to get 500HP, he's experience on building these high horse power stang.
