You CAN port 185s to flow better than OTB 205s, but why? Good head porting is very expensive. Just buy the 205s.

And since I am asking so many questions. I have a 351 block that has been sitting in my basement for the past 10 years(17 year old build than ran out of money after the rotating assembly..lol) what would be the best way to go about building it for one hell of a street car? just boring and nice H.C.I or stroke?
Right now I'm not running anything. I'm going thru a divorce if that tells you anything.

I have had my hands on pretty much all of the popular heads.

The best way to go about building anything is to have a plan, a budget amount and a goal.

Back to my original topic, I do have a plan on rebuiding the top half of my motor next winter after I get to drive it around for the summer. I do not want to wait and let this thing sit in my yard for another year while I save money. By the looks of it I should find som AFR or trick flow 185's, longtube headers, and custom grind cam. Anything I'm leaving off? what would this net me come next spring?

Simply boring the motor out wouldn't leave you any better off than a 342/347, and it'll weigh more. You better stroke it or sell it off.

Trickflow 185 cnc's and AFR 185 cnc's aren't in the same airflow category. You're better off comparing the TF 185's to AFR 205's for airflow. the TF 170's and AFR 185's are more comparable to eachother.

Run the Trick Flow 185 head. You will be happy you did.
