So my 87 manual fox only does 85?

how do i go past 85?

its a 4-speed. is that why it reads 85 on the speedometer?

my other 90 automatic does 140, so i'm guessing its a 5-speed automatic? i dont know much about this stuff.

i wanna know what can i do to make the stang that does 85 go fast just like the one that does 140. do i need to put a 5-speed manual transmission in it?

i just bought the 87 stang, i'm not gonna fix it up if its only gonna do 85.

is it the transmission that controls that? its got the stock 5.0 H.O. engine in both cars.

what do you meen by it only goes 85? does it just say 85 on the speedometer? just because the speedometer says 140 doesn't meen that it can do 140.

and just because it says 85 doesn't mean it can't do 140

also, I HIGHLY doubt someone put a 5-speed auto in one of your mustangs. The automatics put in those cars were AODs which are 4 speed automatics. If it is a manual transmisson and it's an 87 5.0 its a 5 speed. I'm almost positive you can get it up well over 85 MPH. I know my '89 has an auto in it and it will do 125. You better be packin a lot of heat in order to get it to 140.
