I love my s/c...but don't be scared to try it, it's nothing you can't figure out other than the tune...which is a whole other story...

Yeah man I am getting a quarterhorse from a guy on ebay who includes email tunes and his support if I need help. His company is dirtydirtyracing.
Crossing my fingers this goes well. hehe But shit dude, I was just looking at welders at home depot right now. They're only 250-300 for a MIG welder. I'm guessing these cheap ones are good enough for welding if I were to go turbo. Hmmmm Are those electric welders good? |

I have a MIG that I bought for $500, works great, my buddy has the same one that he built a complete home made setup..the piping is thin so it works well, just buy some pipe and practice because you don't want to fix a blown-through hole on your good pipe...if you even have to weld anything...

80 amps is a little on the low side if you ever want to do anything else other than thin wall pipe, if you can afford something in the 100+ amps range it would be more versatile, like for welding subframe connectors...it's all about penetration!!

Haha alright. Do you think I would be able to weld in full length subframe connectors myself? The one where you weld it through the car. Is it any hard?

Why not? I'm welding my own in, but have a fair bit of welding experience. Its all about your confidence....

That welder will get the job done, but expect to do some grinding on the welds because it's a flux core welder and you're an amateur. Flux core welders are tough to make pretty welds, but they work. If you get a gas MIG you can make pretty welds in a matter of minutes.. it's all about making little circles with the weld puddle.

Thanks for the advice hatch. Yeah we got several lifts at my college.
I had another question. Do you need a bar map sensor for a supercharger or a turbo with a quarterhorse? I only plan on running 8-10 psi at the most. |
