Just put my motor back together, stock bottom end, tfs track heat heads, ssi intake manifold, fuel pressure reg, bbk rails, aod, tfs 1 cam, 1.7 roller rockers, headers, h pipe, exhaust, stock throttle body, fuel injectors, mass air. car is a 91 lx 5.0.
finally got it to start last night..... large probems....first off, i have an exhaust leak at the header to h pipe, i never had before, i think its the new crappy upr billet motor mounts. next new problem, surges horribly, too bad to accurately time (900 rpm to 1700 rpm), i have deleted all smog, i believe all vacuum lines are on correctly, egr has nothing going to it. i have a line from manifold to brake booster, speed sensor, fuel pressure regulator, and that's it. i didn't change the tps at all, but i have heard that might be the problem. also, car runs so incredibly rich it burns the eyes. the car will not maintain any kind of idle past about 30 secs without giving it throttle. no check engine lights (doesn't make sense, i deleted egr, smog etc) Even more problems....fuel pressure regulator has a good source of vacuum from manifold and it doesn't maintain 40 psi. At idle its at about 40.5, but then you give it gas and fluctuates from 40 to 35 psi. Also, what should it be timed at, what rpm and what timing? I heard around 34-36 w/o spout. Thanks in advance, i know its a lot of problems/questions.
What do i address first? What am i doing wrong?
