so a couple months ago i took the cheap route and just replaced the ball joint on the driver side front control arm, and it solved the clunking noise/creaking problem for the time being.. now it seems to be acting up but on the passenger side. so i'm just going to order new control arms from somewhere online... anybody have any recomendations on which brand is better then another?

If you want a really good set..
1979-93 Mustang Front Mild Steel Tubular Control Arms With Spring Cups at LRS - Same Day Shipping!

Most others I have seen require the coil over kit.

That is why when you go to a shop to have a ball joint fixed they want to do all of them. Not because they want to ass rape you, its because the ball joints usually all go south around the same time if it is normal wear causing the failure. There is no need to replace the control arms if the ball joint is all that is bad.

haha yeah i guess that definitely makes sense... i ordered the new bjs offline ( ha. imagine that ) and i was also told the sway bar end links are bad? and it wouldnt be expensive at all to have my buddy do it and theyre fairly cheap. but im not sure which ones to order, i was looking online at advanceautoparts.com and found two different sizes one with a 4"spacer and one with a 2.5" spacer( i believe it was 2.5).. you happen to know which of these i would need or is recomended?

Take an adjustable wrench and adjust it to fit the sway bars thickness. Measure the distance of the wrench. I think there may be like 4 different sizes.

I bought the ford racing upgraded units for around 300 right from the ford stealership. I had a problem with whose replacement parts I used. AZ ball joints kept making noise so I said eff it and installed brand new shizz.

you are in luck - I just found some interesting info on this tonight on the maximum motorsport site.

use 6 1/8 overall length for stock ride height and 5 3/8 for cars lowered greater than 1 1/2 inches.

I imagine that their meaning of over all length is the distance form where the sway bar sits in the end link to where the control arm sits in the end link.

If you are stock go for the 4' spacer. If you are low, go for the 2.5 inch spacer.
