11 second 347 combos? It won't take much of a 347 to run 11s. If 11s is your goal then all you need is a stock short block 5 liter.

This car we built last year has went 10.90s and i think a 10.84 once, it gets bracket raced with a 11.10 dial in. He won the 2010 IHRA div3 bracket finals with in last year.
![]() ![]() It has a CHP 347 kit, dart block, trick flow twisted wedge heads ported by fox lake, it had a holley sytemax intake and we just changed it to a victor 5.0, the car weighs 3100 with out driver, and an anderson n61 cam.

I know I posted this in another thread, but what is missing from this setup to hit an 11 sec e.t;
Trickflow 190cc FAC heads Custom cam Victor 5.0 or EFI Spyder intake 90mm tb 90mm maf 36# injectors 1-3/4 primary headers, and 2.5 pipes Weight = 3000 w/ driver |

All that shit on a 347 will run deep in the 10s if the rest of the car is set up correctly and you can drive. Like I said before, n/a 302s with a basic heads/cam/intake set up run high 11s.

Ahhh I see alright.
Do you think this 302 setup would hit solid mid 11s; Trickflow 190cc FAC heads Custom cam Victor 5.0 76 maf bbk calibrated to 30 lb injectors 75mm trick flow tb 3000 lbs w/ driver again |

Yes, easily. I would change a few things though. I would use a Super Victor EFI, accufab throttle body and an Abaco 97mm MAF. I would also keep the compression around 10:1 - 10.5:1.

Yes.. keep in mind that when you do a super vic EFI you need an elbow to run a fox style throttle body, edelbrock fuel rails, different fuel line and -AN fittings, and a different fuel pressure regulator. Plan on spending at least another 300-400 on top of the price of that manifold.. not trying to deter you because it's a great intake, just giving you some insight.

I was under the impression that the stock rails were good for around 500hp give or take, that's not the case?

If someone builds a 347, it better make 500+ or they are doing something wrong.

I guess this is a good point, hah.. I think I'm getting too caught up in the throw it together mentality here.

This is going to sound stupid, but why exactly is that intake a good choice if the power range is 4,500-9,000? Seems like a screamer to me.

Those RPM ranges are BS.. they're for people who aren't planning a build carefully. It's a safeguard because if you set the engine up wrong, then your powerband will likely be higher up in RPM's with that intake. With the right combination, you can make power through the entire RPM band with an intake like that on a smaller cube engine. The cam is a huge part of it. Set the cam up so that it ramps up faster and stays in the higher lift for longer and then closes the intake valve earlier to raise cylinder pressure and you can make that intake make power everywhere. Jay Allen has proved that many times and there's a lot of cars running a SV on the street who love their powerband.

That makes more sense for me now...Thanks. I always wondered why those rev ranges were there. Any idea of what you need to get exactly to run that intake style? I think the TB style intakes are pretty cool, and they flow a lot. I'm sure you'd need an intake elbow and maybe even convert to a good SD system?

What I listed above is what you need. I don't know exactly what size and number of fittings or how much line you'll need because I haven't put mine on yet and I'm waiting for the snow to melt before I even start figuring it all out. From what I've seen, they take some milling to get to fit on TF heads also. Converting to a good SD system would be ideal because then you could eliminate the elbow and use a carb style TB. I've seen lots of proof that they make more power and go faster without the elbow. If I hadn't already spent the dough on an abaco and a powerpipe, I'd be doing just that.
