Who's got nitrous?

Thinking about a nitrous kit. Give me your opinions. Prefer one kit over another, wet/dry, whatever. Who's had problems with hypereutectic pistons and nitrous? I was thinking 100-150 shot.

Get the NOS 05115-ii dry kit. It is adjustable up to 150hp or so. It is the best low hp nitrous kit on the market for Mustangs. Quality parts, good instructions and easy to install if you have some mechanical ability.

Hypereutectic are fine with 150hp of nitrous.

I love my NX products.

100 wet shot all day and night, no issues, just drop timing 2-4 degrees.

im going to be using a 150shot on my new short block that has explorer hyper pistons. as long as you don't let the car go lean you will be alright.

Can you get away with a basically stock fuel system with either kit?

Yup...stock fuel system is fine. I have a zex wet. The jets are under-rated but you just go up a jet. Buy a window switch

Upgrade injectors and fuel pump if you want to shoot 150.

The zex wet systems work off the TPS wich is much easier to use. It only sprays at WOT and you can set the min rps for it to spray as well.

I would recommend a bigger fuel pump, but you don't really need anything else. (change out your fuel filter, run 91-93 octane.) if your going to run 150 shot, get a step colder plugs.

if your using a wet kit, there is no need at all for bigger injectors. bigger injectors are for dry kits that spike fuel pressure when the nitrous comes in.

NX sizes there jets pretty good, but very fat, as in a little to much fuel. What I do is use there recomindations, and just bump bottle pressure to 1000-1100, or if I get the car on the dyno, I will play with jet size while watching air/fuel ratio, that was you don't have to wait for 10-20min for the bottle to get warm enough.

Yes, but I would replace the fuel pump for two reasons. The stock fuel pump is barely adequate for the stock engine and chances are it is old and tired.

No need to upgrade injectors.

Go with a 255lph right away. Its not much more than a 190lph.

There is no need for a window switch. Window switches are luxuries, not necessities. I've never run a window switch and never had a problem. Window switches are new within the last 10 years. What did people do before the window switches came out??? They ran without a window switch!

There is no need for bigger injectors with a dry kit. The injectors should be matched to the engine, not the nitrous system. The instructions for the NOS 05115-ii kit says that right in there.

I agree, but I also think when its spiking fuel pressure I wouldn't trust stock 19pound'ers to not rupture a ring or something and start leaking after some abuse.

I suppose the only way to check your fuel pump is to pull it out, right? When I bought the car, he said it had a 255...but he was also a dumbass.

For some reason, I'm drawn to the ZEX kits ... Zex Wet Injected Nitrous System (86-04 V8) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

It doesn't worry me at all. Injector failure can happen at any time with any injector. What's the worst that will happen, the system will run rich?

I have a feeling you are drawn to that because of the price...

Price is always a factor, but really because I like the color of the parts :-) I don't want to just go out and buy a cheap one, so I'll check them all out first. My buddy was really happy with NX so maybe ill go that route.

A local nitrous tuner of mine recommends an Edelbrock or an N.O.S kit for the stock mustangs he tunes.

+1

ill be getting a plate for my typhoon intake more then likely. but I might go for a super victor with an elbow so I can run a carb plate instead of the high dollar efi plate.

will pick up some power on motor, and save me a ton for the nitrous plate.
