88 5.0 Notchback
So I bought a 88 Notchback last week. I was told its a stock 302 and has the GT40 upper and lower intake. I asked the guy if it had the GT40 heads as well but he said it didnt. Would it be best to get some Gt40 heads on there or get another kind? He told me that if I was going to change the heads to go with heads from AirFlow Research. He said they are the best heads you can get but somewhat pricey. Any help guys

Twisted Wedge! If you get better heads like tfs, or afr's or anything else then you will be lacking on the intake side and most likely cam since I'm guessing its stock.

[QUOTE=1slo5.0;3524003]Depends on what your goals are. I personally wouldn't waste the time doing a head swap with GT40 heads. AFR heads are good but far from the best.
Out of couriosity, what would you consider the best? |

Depends on your goals. No matter what the goals are, there are better choices than AFR. If you find someone that is hard up for cash that is selling some AFR heads cheap, by all means buy them. But I wouldn't ever buy them new because there is better out there in the same price range. I'm partial to Trick Flow and Canfield on street cars. For a full blown race car with no budget, CFE and Blue Thunder make some pretty good heads.

That's a good deal there.. even if you don't end up using that setup you could resell it for a bit more but that setup will give good bit more power over the stock e7's no doubt.
