GT40 heads questions
I am looking into buying a set of GT40 heads for my 1993 GT but I really don't know too much about heads. My motor is stock as of now, but I'm wondering what else i would need to change in order for these to work. I've heard springs but I don't want to get into this without knowing what I'm doing first, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Only thing that would help benefit w/ them heads would be a gt40 or good aftermarket intake. If youre keeping your stock cam them stronger springs arent needed. If you swap the cam to a decent aftermarket one i would recommend springs.

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention that I had the BBK SSI intake. I'm going to get a cam eventually down the line, but I dont know which kind I want yet. Its for my every day car, I just want some extra power to keep up with my dads M3

Depending on what year M3, you will probably need alot more than GT40 heads and that BBK intake to get anywhere near keeping up with him.

I would most likely go with a new set of aluminum assuming that doesn't mean I have to change anything else.

Its an E46 convertible. Its not as fast as youd think off the line but its still faster than my car. Ive got a few other things as well but im just talking about from red lights.

If you're going to spend the money, there's far better heads than aluminum GT-40's. Trick Flow, Canfield, AFR and Edelbrock vic jr's will all make more power than them and you can find them used for cheaper than a new set of the GT-40's
