Think it's a little optimistic to hope for 270whp?

Almost worth a "Cool Story Bro!" pic, but not quite.

Don't waste the time or money with the port work. Just have a good 3 angle valve job and put the new springs on. Have the machine shop check them over real good for anything else that might need to be replaced.

My dad is doing all the work at his machine shop so I'm not really concerned with the money.
You don't think it'd be worth the effort to port/polish? He's gonna polish my cobra intake bottom piece too

No. A 3 angle valve job and maybe a little bowl work but that is about it.

Probably hurt flow too. I didn't say "no, just some bowl work" because I wanted to see myself post. People screw these heads up all the time trying to port them. Good luck.

If you can do it for free go for it. I had my new heads polished by the machine shop but he owed me one so it was a freebe.

My factory Cobra GT40 heads were ported by a guy who used to do the GT40 porting research for Tasca Ford in Rhode Island. Basically he knows what he's doing with these heads. With my Cobra lower intake ported by TMoss, my numbers with an E303 cam are at 275/305. When I had the Edelbrock RPM II intake on this combination, it was at 280rwhp. I switched back over to the ported Cobra intake because the average torque was better with it than the RPM II.

Good factual info right there.
