I just picked up a super clean 91 Notch. Stock everything automatic. I want to swap it with a 5Spd. I was reading that it's really better to go with the Tremec TKO 500 vs the standard T5. I know it costs more but is it really worth it in the long run if I plan to push around 400HP for street driving?

Also since I am in California does it make a difference changing from AT to Manual on the title and smog emissions?

This should be more than enough it can handle 600lbs/ft torque. This is the tranny I'm going to use in my 400 HP or so build.

The way I see it if you're going to replace a tranny, get the bigger one to be sure that you won't break it. T5s only handle 300 lbs/ft torque, stock comes very close to that...anyone please correct me if I'm wrong ^_^

where are you getting the pedal and everything else besides the tranny
