Quick Mass Air Flow Question...
I have seen 5+ cars on youtube over the last couple months, and Just seen a pic of one on AM.com and its a 5.0HO the stock fox setup for a GT and I have seen most w.o stock air intake hose, and w. BBK cold air. Well I have seen these cats running on Vid w.o a Mass air flow sensor... I would love to get rid of mine but i dont see how the car would even run..

'88 (minus CA cars) and older Mustangs had Speed Density instead of Mass Airflow. unless you convert your car back to SD, youre not gunna get rid of it. i wouldnt want to anyway. MAF as alot better then SD is, since its literally measuring the air entering the engine, versus SD calculating it.
BUT, if you are completely dead set on getting rid of it, i will GLADLY trade you my '88 computer for your computer and MAF sensor. ![]() all you would need to do would be to connect the Baro Sensor (on firewall behind intake manifold) to a vacuum source. somebody please correct me if im wrong though.

lmao
why in the balls would you want to get rid of the MAF. so the car will run like shit with minimal mods? if you just hate the looks of it, get a intake tube from anderson that goes into the fender and puts the maf in there with it.

I was just wondering how it was possible to run a car w/o a mass air flow. The cars had nothing but TB to a maybe 2" long tube w/ a filter on it. I would rather keep Mass air over SD anyday. Just thought maybe there was a trick i didnt know of.

There are also tuneable aftermarket ECUs that use a MAP sensor instead of MAF. This can come in handy for turbo or other wild builds as you don't have to find a MAP sensor that matches your air flow level. We've found that there's a small but measurable horsepower gain from removing the MAF - it's not very much of a restriction like on some cars, but you may find 2 hp or so from removing it.
