Found some issues

Finely with some warm weather up here in WI. this past week melting the snow. I was able to get my 88' coupe out of the shed and over to the old mans shop. Now I can start digging into the issues as the previous owner butchered this car.

Fist issue is the motor and trans. While drove it home last fall it smoked something fierce from underneath the car. Originally I thought it was just a slipping clutch as it was not in the best shape. But I was wrong, looks to be coming from two spots out of the oil fill tube and from some place behind the intake manifold. The motor runs like a top. What would be the the cause of so much smoke coming from the valve cover? Bad valve seals?

I have a clutch kit coming so I'll be pulling the motor/trans soon so I can tear into it. Also previous owner pulled the stock fan and installed a dual electric fan from something, does not look to be an after market piece. And the best part instead of wiring it up to a thermostat he wired it to a toggle switch???
What is the best way to wire the fans up? I've looked at a kit few different kits from painless wiring. But still unsure which is the best way?

i used a hayden fan controler (the one with the rad probe) it's about 35 bucks at most big auto parts store. insted of running the load of the fan through it. i use it to trigger a 100amp constant duty selanoid. they are about 30 bucks also or 10-15 on ebay.the selanoid is wired between the hot side of the starter selanoid and the fan. it will carry the high amp draw. (must be a constant duty one not a starter selanoid) the fan controller is used to trigger the selanoid. works flawlessly with my mark viii fan. also your oil leak is dripping on the exhaust. may only need some gaskets.
