Buy a built T-5 or rebuild with g force rebuild kit?
Would you guys suggest buying the kit and taking my trans to a trans shop to have it rebuilt (I dont really trust my self to rebuild it)
G-Force Transmissions GFT5295-93S G-Force T5 Transmission Gears And Mainshaft Upgrade Kits Or buy this trans outright. Shipping for the trans would be around 500-600 believe to Hawaii. (Tried playing around on ups website) Which would be cheaper in the end? |

Where i live it cost almost as much or more to rebuild a tranny then it would to buy a new one. Thats the problem i faced a few years back. I wanted to buy a new one but the tranny shop was going to charge me 600 just for dropping and inspecting my old one.

Astro makes some good stuff, I'd just be sketchy about buying one on ebay.

G-force kit says it can ONLY be installed in a world class transmission. Not sure why though, thought it was just stronger than the standard t5

Price got too high with my ridiculous shipping rates and I didn't bid.
I'll probably get the g force rebuild kit when I demolish my t-5 |

![]() Exactly dude. It is crazy. I actually plan on going to college on the mainland once I finish my auto program here. That should be fun. If I get a mustang I'll be able build it for half the price. lol |

No I mean like when I head up to school in the mainland, if I find a cheap mustang for like a DD, I could actually do a real budget build cause there are parts everywhere.
Yeah I got a nice 1990 LX hatch (I've only seen maybe 8 foxbody mustangs on the island, 3 of them at the dragstrip) for a pretty nice deal. I checked the shipping for a car from New York to Hawaii and it was 4000. Somewhere close like California would probably 2000 or so. |

Oh really?
I will definitely have to check them out if I get a car up there or decide to ship mine over for new build down the road. I always look on the forums and ebay, dreaming of getting some of the mustangs you guys have got up there. lol |

I know a guy in HI trying to get rid of a stang. He put gt40p's and a manifold and never got the rest together because he locked and loaded a bun in the oven. the car has a salvage title. I have never seen it in person but I can send you his info. It is a white lx hatch if i am not mistaken.

no. The company I work for owns Go! - that inter-island commuter jet operation out there. I have been out there a couple of times as well.

Ohhh yeah I think they have like the cheapest deals on inter-island flights. Thats cool bro.
Yeah Hawaii is awesome, but the price of things here and the price to get things here is just nuts. lol |

Yeah, another friend of mine moved there and back in the matter of 2 months. She couldn't stand the hatred toward caucasions and the fact that everything there is marked up because it costs extra to get it there.

The hatred towards caucasions is very true. The mood can definitely get hostile over here even with just a stare.
Sorry to hear about your friend though. |
