starting problem
swear this car starts when it wants to
will start for 2-3 days and then nothing half roll over- then will just start after jump today solenoid was that only thing that made noise if i jump it it pops right off--stays at 12.6 with jumper on turn jumper off and slowly drains down to 10.8ish (dont know if its because of my underdrive). if i rev it up it will go to 14.6-14.8 new interstate battery, remanufactured alternator could it be solienod, crappy connector on alternator, starter going out or bad power feed wires---not a clue also when i turn on headlights 1-2v drop, heat another1-2v drop, turn signal on with rest of this sitting at 8v in red |

The battery drains to 10.8 when the car is running or when it's off?

Check all your connections and if everything looks good, have the alternator bench tested. Sounds like its either a poor connection somewhere or a faulty alternator.

Do you have to jump the car to start it?

14.6 is a touch high. Standard voltage for a working charging system is between 13.8 and 14.4v and this is at idle. The voltage regulator in the alternator could be bad if you've got a spread of 10.8 to 14.6v. I still say check all connections first, then test the alternator.
