Differences between '85 GT and '86 GT???

I have an '85 GT, 5.0 carbed with bolt ons. My question is, I was looking for a new clutch and most of the specs were for '86 and above. Whats the difference other than fuel injection? Theres been a few parts I wanted, but were for '86 and above. Im looking for a T-5 crossmember too, with the double hump in it for dual exhaust (mine has a single hump and a Y-pipe that needs to come off for an X or H pipe). Will a crossmember from any T-5 car work?

To straighten this out: I dont really know the differences from '85 to '86 other than the obvious FI. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Yes all fox body 5.0 T-5 crossmembers will work for you. The clutch difference could be because of the flywheel or throwout bearing. I know there was a certain year the crank changed a bit where the hole in the crank was a different length. If your motor is not original you may need to ID the block or crank that is in it. Maybe measure the depth of the crank.

Thanks, thats good to know. Just having trouble finding a T-5
dual hump crossmember in my area, its rediculous.

As far as I know, its the original 5.0 block. I dont think im too concerned
about the clutch as of now, I just got a decent deal on a fully rebuilt 5.0 FI
with a cobra upper/lower intake, new stage 1 cam, MAF, Ford Racing
headers, GT40P port/polished heads, etc etc. Im just gonna swap that plus
the wiring harness, tank, and fuel lines into my car and have an '85 FI.
My carbed 5.0 just seems tired :\

I thought the differences between an 85 and 86 were:
85 had a 10" clutch and 86 has a 10.5" clutch
85 y exhaust and 86 dual exhaust
85 7.5 rear and 86 8.8 rear end
85 carb and 86 fuel injected

If i have any of this wrong please correct me
