Check engine light?

i have a 95 5.0 auto tran, and when my car shifts from either 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th my check engine light comes on. it only comes on right after it shifts until it shifts to the next gear and then it turns off.

Is it when you are into the throttle or during normal driving?

Im not 100% sure on this but i know there are some cars out there that use the check engine light as a shift light. I dont know if they ever did that on a mustang or not but that would also mean that you computer would have to be from a manual transmission car. Probably not the issue but there is an outside chance. I just re read your first post. does it stay on for the whole gear?
