2 weeks before my build, Help me decide

I've been changing my mind left and right, but I finally narrowed it down to these choices. I will go with one of these for sure.

stock block
vortech v3 5-6 psi (w/ powerpipe maybe 8 psi)
trick flow 170 heads
victor 5.0 intake
custom cam
pro m 75mm maf
76mm throttle body
36lb injectors
255 walbro
3000# weight w/ driver
shift at 6000 rpms

or

stock block
347 chp stroker kit
trickflow 205 heads
victor 5.0 intake
custom cam
90mm maf
90mm throttle body
36lb injectors
255 walbro
3000# weight w/ driver
shift at 6000 rpms

How much rwhp would these combos make?

Which one would you prefer as a street/strip car?

I know I have talked about a turbo, but I want to compare these.

Thanks

First one will all depend on the tune. You can definitely crack the block with a few more psi. So, given how you want the tune, look at 450RWHP or so. The 347 combo, you're probably going to net 400RWHP, probably a tad higher.

Yeah, well I'm gonna tune it with quarterhorse.

I want around 450 give or take a few. Something that will get me into the low 11s or high 10s with a mild suspension.

And do you mean I can crack the block with a few more psi, meaning like 10psi would crack it?

Personally, I would prefer the N/A option, but thats just me. I just love the idea of owning a naturally aspirated monter...but I'm biased

Yeah me too. If I can get the 347 to 450hp, I might go with that. It's just more expensive for n/a.

The thing is, I wanna stay under 500rwhp is because I have read that is where to stock block cracks and it is where you should upgrade your fuel lines and rails.

I plan on running either of these combos with a built t-5, but a stock rear end. I've got another 8.8 rear if mine lets go

But mainly I don't want to run over 500hp because my block will crack

Haha yeah I wouldn't mind boost, but if I can get the same power with a 347 I think it would be less things to worry about (although a supercharger isn't that much work) and I love all motor cars better. I think tuning would be easier as well.

Any more inputs on the power for each setup??

ever hear the term shit or get off the pot?

I know we have been over this stuff with you a lot. I'm still unsure what you are really trying to get out of us.

there is learning, and then there is just peddling along.

both combos are good, but supercharger combo will make more power, and be easier to deal with day to day. sounds like win-win to me.

Alright dude, I know I asked repetitive questions, I guess I just kept changing little parts to my build and wanted to know the outcome, my bad lol

I'm gonna decide what to go with this week. Just wanted to know the power difference between these two. Thanks for confirming that the supercharger would be quicker and a better driver.

I'll let you guys know what I decide. And I promise I won't ask more questions about this build. lol

Boost. Hands down.

Now, lots of Cubes + Boost = win. But from what ive heard lots of people have issues with boosted 347s.

Get a 351, and stroke it to a 408 and boost it. Like me ;p

The only issue with a boosted 347 would be if you were using a stock block. At that point, you'll be well past what that block can handle.. unless it's a gt-40 headed, e303 cam, powerdyne making 4lbs.

Awwww...i knew about maxing out the block, i thought he was referring to something else.

And this is a perfect example why i opted to get my dart block, because im supercharging with next years tax return

Dude if I can get my hands on a dart within the next 2 weeks I will go 347 and boost later down the road.

What is a good compression ratio for around 10-15 psi?

Alright thanks dude.

And at what psi would I need an intercooler? I have read that 8psi is the limit without an intercooler?

well you want a intercooler period. they help out a lot.

if you car makes 400hp with the blower, no intercooler, then you drive the car in the city on a hot day for an hour, you will be making like 300hp.

you cant really "hot lap" the car ether without an intercooler, if you where to keep running passes at the track, back to back, the car would get slower and slower from the heat alone.

so if you can, get an intercooler period.
