21 mm for the nut.

Typically you can apply more torque with a good size breaker bar than most run of the mill impact wrenches.

You are talking about holding the shaft while breaking the nut loose?

Mine have a slot cut in the top of the shaft.

I think i ended up heating it up and using a vice grips and an impact wrench and it was enough to break it loose

yes on the top of the strut, (threaded part) top of shaft there are two flat sides that u hold with a wrench while u loosen the nut, i need to find out the size of the wrench, im using a 7/16 wrench and its just a lil to big

it's not as good as a O/A set up ,but its small and will get most jobs done. i've gotten spindle nuts and fine thread axle U-bolts off with just the MAP gas torch on my old 4x4's. you can even buy the head and a can of gas at autozone.home depot or lowe's will be a bit cheeper. under $30 bucks. after you use it to get just one bolt you will have saved the 30 in agravation and broken tools! if its a nut you heat the nut,and if its a bolt you heat the part it threads into.. it woint get hot enough to make it glow. you would need O/A for that, but if you keep it on their for two-three minutes it will kinda have glowing speckles in the metal.then it's ready. doint get propain(blue can) get the yellow one map is hotter

Strut bolts are easy.. Use a giant fucking flat head screw driver and put it in the top slot of the nut. Have someone else put the proper size wrench on the strut and turn that shit.

If you use vice grips and shit you'll end up having to replace the strut
