Hey 5.0 guys! 89 5.0?

Well... I'm thinkin i'm just gonna keep my 01 Bullitt for a show car and get this 89 5.0 as a race car. Just wondering what you guys think of yours and maybe some input on this one. I'm likin it a lot, it's $5,500 and i'm pretty sure it's fully built. That's a pretty good deal right?

Pretty sure it's built and seeing receipts that go with the car are two different things. Heads are painted, could just be stock. I know I wouldn't paint mine unless I was looking to race for cash.

I would definitely look into it if I were you, just make sure you know what it has in it and don't give the seller the benefit of the doubt.

Just sent me his list of mods:
Stock block bored to a 306 with forged bottom end
World Product 190cc Iron Heads Ported
Ford Racing X-Cam with 1.7 roller rockers
BBK Shorty headers with Catted X-Pipe
Aluminum Radiator
Trick Flow ported Intake
BBK 75mm Throttle Body
C&L 75mm MAF Sensor
BBK Cold air intake
Under drive pulleys
3.55 Gears
MSD 6AL Ignition Box

So definitely less built than I assumed. Gonna go drive it tomorrow and see how it pulls.

Thanks guys!

That's a breather cover on the valvecover. Instead of an oil cap.

Is it better than an oil cap? Or just for looks

I would pay that much for that car. Its clean! Although i'm not fond of the rainbow colors under the hood and the heads/cam combo... i would snag that car up.

If you want to race, how fast you trying to go? That would be the question you should ask yourself before considering that car.

Personally I wouldn't pay $5,500 for that. You can get one that's built better than that for that price.

This ^^ I see better built 5.0s in my area for sale for around that price or just a bit more.

I was close to buying a notch similiar to this with pages full of mods, with all the papers to go along with it. Untill I pulled the oil cap and saw all the blow by...Smoked like a train out of there..Guess that's why he was only asking 5,000.

Well I would consider another one but for one I can never find notches around my area. But also he's willing to go down to 4k for it. I drove it today and sadly it didn't have much more pull than my bullitt so I'm off to find another. I'le only buy a notch though. and not to willing to pay to have a car shipped to me. lol thanks for the input though guys!
