Stack Racing C.A.I. & SCT Chip???
I was about to purchase from AmericanMuscle.com a stack racing cold air intake that also comes with a 4 bank elimenator chip and 3 custom Bama tunes and free tunes for life. Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions on this kit or know of a better c.a.I?

DO NOT get the chip. waste of money
bump your timing yourself. and add the cold air intake. both mods will be worth 10-15rwhp

i was reading that the chip not only changes your timing but it controls your air flow and your fuel ratio as well. but you're right for 300 bucks it might not be worth it.

The factory air/fuel ratio is going to be about 12.3 or so, and we bring it up to 12.6-12.8. There's definitely some power to be had in the 4 bank chip and the CAI as well. It's just not as impressive if you don't have headers, heads, cam, and all sorts of other stuff to dial in as well. We've got thousands of people running that CAI/chip package who love it. It's a matter of opinion.

Everything we do is put together on a case-by-case basis. You come to us with X pcm code and Y list of mods, it gets custom created for your PCM code, your modifications, your octane preferences, etc. We don't store any "canned" tune files to ship out. We have a very intricate database of calibration parameters that we've created. We don't use SCT value files. They're all ones that we've created on the dyno and through years of experience and thousands of hours and thousands of cars.

So imma buy this chip now since I got Chris Rose actually giving 1st person input. I cant call cuz I'm in the Army and my hours are fucked...So a Question for you Chris, Sometimes my car will start up fine but then it will idle down and die. So I was going to replace my whole Ignition system and get a better alternator then along with that order a C.A.I., a underdrive pulley kit, and a 70mm throttle body/EGR spacer combo. How much of a gain will I get from this along with the chip and will that fix my Idle problem?

i think i'm still going to eat my popcorn for a bit. when i was in highschool ''A CHIP'' was the shit on these cars. but as they get older people figure out how to get the same results mechanically. to a certain point. for example: i can add 4* timing in a 92-2000 dodge magnum engine without geting into the pcm by modifying the crank position sensor. i can also add ford 19# injectors because at dodges 40-50 psi fuel pressure their almost like having 24's ,but i caint change the speedo for tire changes, or change the shift points without a programmer or a flash. i'm still on the fence on this, but interested.

If you're replacing everything you said, more than likely you'll fix your issue. Clean the MAF when you install the CAI, also replace your fuel filter while you're at it. I was going to say clean the throttle body/egr/iac but it sounds like you're going to replace everything. Hopefully that clears it up, which I think it will. From there, the chip is going to benefit quite a bit. You may only gain 10-12RWHP from the chip, but you're going to have an optimized air/fuel ratio and optimize the timing, idle and other driveability characteristics of the car in the mean time. The gains on the chip are a direct result of how far off the car is with the stock calibration.
