Question

How much horsepower/Torque is to much for a mustang 5.0 transmission?

Because in the future when i get a mustang 5.0, i was wondering how much HP/Torque is too much before the transmission/clutch gets hurt.
Also how much does it cost to install a Turbo kit for a Fox Body 5.0 heres an example.

More than you can peddle, Just giving you crap, but like Ryan said it depends a LOT on how its driven, the clutch that is in it, etc.
The stronger the clutch and stickier the tires the faster it is going to go, in most cases. A lot of the guys I know that run them stick with the stock clutch, it cost a lot less and is a lot easier to replace a clutch than rebuild the transmission.
How old are you anyways, and when is your eta on getting a mustang? What got you interested in a fox ?

Im 15 years old right now, but im going to turn 16 on April the 10th. im planning to buy a Fox Body 5.0 in September, I use to hate the way they looked because all of them were beaters/4clyinders were i lived. When i went to a friends house out of town a very good looking Fox Body LX road by me with this very loud but deep exhaust. At that moment i knew what thats the car i wanted.

They can break at any time with any power level with any amount of miles and abuse. Like stated, its more about the driving style. I've had over 400 each for years without issue but my cluster started whining pretty bad after my last time at the track. It sounds like a mini supercharger now and it's probably not going to last much longer. The T5 in my stock Mustang lost 2nd gear sync at random while daily driving around town.

Depending on your clutch setup and how u drive the car will determine how long before you break it.

I have king cobra polly mounts and a factory t5 with 188k. I have made a ton of passes on a 150-200 shot on dr and slicks and it's perfect. It will whine towards the end of a hot track day. I borrowed my buddys notch mostly stock and blew the shit out of his tranny racing a new edge ha ha so who the f knows
