[90LX-5.0]

Is anybody here using Promotion Powertrain's adjustable clutch cable? I bought my '90 5.0L back in late September 2010 and I was told the clutch cable was fairly new. My engine bay is pretty dirty but the cable is fairly clean and still has the white paper manufacturer tag on it so I can tell it isn't that old. Since owning the car it has come out of adjustment twice on me out of the blue but it wasn't very hard to put it back into adjustment. However yesterday the cable completley broke and left me stranded in traffic and left me to push the car into the nearest parking lot. Now incase anyone is wondering, I don't drive the car very hard......I have had some moments with it but most of time I drive it normally and don't beat on it. My dad's Mustang still had the original clutch cable in it which finally broke a few years ago and my dad beats on his Mustang pretty good.

i have a steeda adjustable. I beat on it every day has not broke yet.

I also run the Steeda Adjustable w/ their firewall adjuster. I got a messed up 2nd gear and stage 3 racing clutch (like pressing a wall) and no problems.

promotion powertrain is very specific how you should set them up.


I have one, and have never had a issue from it, following there recommendations. I also bought mine new.

I replaced it with a BBK adjustable.......I like it a lot better. I got ahold of the last owner and he told me the Promotion Powertrain cable that broke was maybe 2 years old if that....
