lol I honestly could give two shits if you or anybody else swaps to five lug but you have to realize there more to gain so i'll write a little bit until I start trailing off from the alcohol First, the bearings are sealed and separate from the rotors. This keeps maintenance very easy. Second, they are the basis for brake upgrades such as the Cobra 13" and Brembos etc.. pretty much if you are serious about braking then you'll need to convert sooner or later. Third they have better steering geometry creating more ackerman steering which increases turn in and of course they allow you to run the popular OEM Ford type wheels instead of being stuck with a selection of wheels that I can count on one hand pretty much or wheels that every other guy has on his mustang hmm cobra r ![]() Drums in the rear is just the cheap and quick way to do the five lug conversion.. people that run there car at the strip don't need drilled and slotted 12" rotors in the back when drums have more holding power and the front does 70% of the braking anyways. Sure it's nice to have discs in the rear but if you don't have a purpose then why spend the time dicking with finding the right booster and master cylinder to achieve the correct amount of brake pressure and firmest in the peddle or worrying about the ebrake cable sizing and dicking with finding the right offset wheels to fit that wider rear end because you went jew and swapped a sn95 rear instead of spending all your ball status bills on that northcare kit etc. This reminds me of the way I look at hoods on foxes... if my shit doesn't need a six inch cowl in order to clear the intake then my shit's not gonna have a six inch cowl which is why my rear end on my one fox has ranger axles with fr500's on it and that my friends is how peanut sauce is madeee |
