i have a 88 notchback mustang with a 5 speed, aluminum driveshaft, no spare/jack, no front swaybar, no ac, no smog and stock everything else, but it has a sunroof and powerwindows/locks. what do you guys suppose my car weights around? i told my friend that its probably around 3000 pounds and he said there was no way.

go to the truck stop, pull up on the scale (very front slab only), get out, give the attendant the info, go inside and pay your 7 or 10 bucks or however much it is now....end you'll know for sure. if it has to include driver, add your wieght...

Go to your local race track and weigh it. I believe most have scales and will let you weigh your car. My Mach weighed 3360 in full trim without me in it (<1/4 tank of gas and spare & jack removed).

The only accurate way to weigh the car is with a set of automotive scales. Truck stop and race track scales are far from accurate. If you travel from track to track and race a class with weight restrictions you will find yourself adding or removing weight from the car at every different track.

I would guess the car is about 3150 pounds. My notchback weighed 3062 with me in it with all of the engine accesories removed, EFI switched to carb, draglite wheels, no sway bars and a few other minor things removed.
