The entire dash has to come out. It's not that bad, but it will take some time. There's 3 or 4 nuts that go through the firewall too that have to be removed. You can't miss them on the firewall, they're nuts with big washers attached. The center console comes out first, then the dash, then the heater.

BTW, it barely weighs 15lbs. I pulled mine and was surprised at how little it weighed compared to other heater cores I've removed.

It does take some time but it will also free up some space under the dash. I used it to mount my relay panel and will be mounting the ignition components there also.

if you just wanna take out ur heater core, id save the time and hassle and re-route the heater hoses to bypass it...

You don't wanna have to stop get out and wipe your windshield down every time it fogs up!

My old heater core started draining fluid into the car so I had to replace it. I got it out without taking the entire dash out. If you loosen the dash everywhere and take out the bolts on the passenger side and center you should be able to maneuver the heater box out.

You can easily replace those and if the pipes to the heater core were cut as well you can just replace the heater core along with the hoses and you should be set.

You can fix your heater with almost the same amount of effort you will have to put forth to remove it. To me it makes no sence in deleting your heater system.
