That is good advice even if you were just joking....Ya to the op if you can hold out for 6 months , research and ask as many question as you can, meanwhile save as much as you can. you will end up spending way less then most of us have. because we bought parts not know the true direction we were heading and end up buy the same parts 2 or 3 times.

Since your not going to do that we need to know your buget and what your looking to do with your car, how fast ect......

Remove the air silencer from the stock air box if it's still on the car and put some premium fuel in the tank. Then advance your timing to 12 degrees that's about as much hp as you'll get for free then do what others suggested. Set a goal or purpose for the car and post what that is and how much money you have to spend and we'll help you spend the cheddar wisely.

I do 14* on premium fuel, but every car is different.

Welcome to MM
I would say start off with parts that wouldn't need to be changed when you've decided your goal is different from your initial one, like letting your engine breathe better. Start off with cold air intake, long tube headers, x-pipe and catback.

BBK Cold Air Intake (86-93 5.0L) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

You should start from the front and work your way back, example: cold air intake, then throttle, then intake manifold ect.
Its alot easier that way.

Why is it easier?

You should start with gears. You'll get much more performance gain from them, than any bolt on.

Worst advice ever, this is why you should read, read, read and read some more, because there is a lot of regurgitated info on this site from people with no first hand experience, so be careful who you listen to.

I would start with suspension and gears, if you start with power and have no way to get it to the ground then whats the point.

And African, you should start with getting a car, and some hands on experience before trying to dish out second hand tech info, that the only thing you know about it is hear say. Please explain why its best to work from the front to the back?

odd, All these answers and no one has said it? well I guess I will be the Debbie downer... Maintainece! make sure your car is in top working order before doing any mods, I'm sure the car has some miles on it, has the 120k tune up been done? getting any weird squeaks, screeches or any other bad nosies? chase them down and fix them.

Then you can start to have fun and mod the car, It Is always better to start modding on a nice fresh setup that you know is in the best condition it can possibly be in.

good luck!

well, your mustang probably came stock with 2.73 in the back, if your using it for a daily commute that will require a lot highway driving and are concerned about gas get some 3.55 gears, or 3.73, if its an automatic. 4.10 or 3.90 if its a stick and you wont mind gas prices, many would say the oppposite, lower gears for the manual but i disagree.

Radio and speakers so u can cruse and be cool. Then exhaust, springs and shocks and intake. You should be cleaning up most hondas out there with that. Then tires , heads then cam. Not in that exact order but its up to you just make sure you enjoy it and pics soon.
