There is a big ass grommet where your fuel fill tube goes into the tank. They get dry and leak. Go top off and see if it spills out or gets wet by there. If that is your problem, replace the grommet when you get to 1/4 tank.

It is best to drop your tank to do this. The tank and filler neck will come down together. Google for a write up.

Ok so I got up under my car today, and that grommet is almost brand new and dry and clean around there, but I guess its the gas line maybe. Its in the middle of the car width wise, its right in front of the tank and a flexible hose runs to a fitting where from there it goes into a stiff line... so tell me what you think

I'm not sure about it but there's gas on the underside of the car and I think its leaking or something from where I described... and why would it need a return line?

I was just trying to picture where the leak was at.....

You do know that you have fuel return line right ?

In case you didnt know...Fuel travel up your supply line by the fuel pump then what ever your engine does not use get sent back to your fuel tank....

Only the newer mustangs, and other fords for that matter, have a returnless fuel system. There is a spendy part that regulates the pressure back by the tank. Was at my buddies shop when he was replacing one on an 04 Ford f150. Can't remember what it's called.

I have this same problem, I notice a gas smell after driving the car and before driving, towards the rear of the car. When i get home for spring break i need to check the things you guys mentioned, I was also thinking possibly my return line because I figured if it was the "to engine" line leaking it would cause low fuel pressure and it would run rough/not at all. Does that make sense?

im thinking that you could still have a leak on the supply line and it not effect the engine if the leak is small enough.....But fore sure check the bushing inbetween the fuel tank and filler neck

Ya ill definitely be checking that, also, would the best way to find the leak would be to just crawl under the car while its running and look for spraying or dripping gas? I almost dont even wanna mess with it since the car is running fine but i figure it can only get worse.
