I've never really done a whole lot of homework on coils, and to be honest, I still get by fine on my stock coil so I never have really had the need. Higher the voltage and higher the mA will produce a hotter spark, but I don't know if there's a point where you can have too much spark, or too much juice for a given set of wires, ect.. I'm sure there's a lot of variables in choosing the right coil.
