Throttle body
If the TB opening on the intake is 70mm, do i want a 70mm Tb or a 65 mm? Sounds stupid but i have seen people run a size smaller on their intake and want to know what i should do,

Alot of engine builders will step intakes, TBs, heads so that there is less chance of "reversion", due to the starting and stopping of air as the valves open and close. I would think that after the plenum it really wouldent matter that much.

Ive been told that if your not running a power adder or a HP cam that a 70mm may be to big.65mm i think is just right. but if you do have a power adder then go with a 70mm

Trickflow Street Heat is 75mm opening, I put 75mm throttle body (SUM-227215) and a Performance Mass Air Flow 75mm MAF.
Considering that I port matched my lower intake to the heads, it makes no sense to "step" the TB and loose that valuable effort. The upper intakes acting like an airbox should take care of what JBig was talking about. Stan |
