i have an 89 gt 5.0 with 134,000 miles on the motor, i recently replaced both head gaskets i am wondering if i should scrap tha motor and get a new one or if i should rebuild tha one that i have..

If you buy the right parts and install them how they are supposed to you aren't going to have any problems with rebuliding a motor with less then 150,000 miles.

Hell you don't have to rebuild a 5.0 less then 200,000 miles unless you are doing some abuse to it.

Were you having any problem with the engine or did you just not like the way it felt??

If there was nothing wrong with it I don't think you need to do a full rebuild but you should probably give the whole block a good check.

Make wure your heads are in good condition, check the injectors, you should probably replace the spark plug wires, make sure your oil pan is clean, just do a good check of everything and make sure you are good to go.

After you do everything just make sure you do all of your upkeep, for all of the info Look Here

Take that motor to a hot tank to get it washed with hot water & chemical detergents, after that have it checked with MPI if it's made of cast iron or DPI if it's made of Aluminum. If all the oil passages are clear, water jackets walls are OK and there are no cracks then where's the problem?

134,000 miles is nothing unless if you've had a chronic overheating problem then beware of cracks (hot, cold & hot, it makes the metal crack especially cast steel).

Why rebuild it? 134,000 miles ain't shit. I sold an 88 GT 5 years ago that had over 180,000 miles and it still runs great to this very day. Miles don't mean jack if you take care of it.
