Vibration

I have a 93 LX vert with a 5 speed. (Rear modifications: Ford motorsport 3.55 gears, new UPR upper and lower control arms and bushings, Koni adjustable rear shocks and Steeda weld in subframe connectors) When I get on the throttle hard and the RPM's get to about 4000 I can feel a vibration through the shifter (Steeda tri-ax) and I can also feel it on the floorboard throught my feet, what could it be? all suggestions welcome, thanks for your time.

The most common source of vibrations are the driveshaft/universal joints, the harmonic balancer and then the clutch/flywheel/transmission. You can narrow it down though.
If the vibration is at 4000 in any gear while driving, it is not the driveshaft or universals or something off the wall like a tire or suspension or rear end, all of those get worse with speed, not rpm.
How about 4000 rpm when stopped and in neutral with the clutch in and then out? If it does with both then I'd say the engine is the source and hopefully something simple like the harmonic balancer or flywheel. If it only does it with the clutch out while in nuetral and not moving, then it is something with the transmission?

I got the SAME shifter and the SAME problem...except I cant feel mine through the floor board..have yet to find out the problem. Its only at higher rpms..no matter if the clutch is in or not, or if its in neutral or not...as long as its higher RPMs...

I had the same problem with mine being b&m. Mine was not just a vibration it was more like a healthy palm massage. my solution was Energy Suspensions Urethane Transmission Mount that sits between crossmember and trans. try that, heck its only like $30 and easy to do. Any more questions about it just ask. Hopefully that helps a little and good luck!

adding on to my previous statement to deal with the problem if you know a trans mount is still good then solid motor mounts could also be helpful. But a big no no in my personal book is dont do solid trans & solid m.m. if you do this will equal broken trans casing due to no give at all

well i already have Energy Suspension poly motor mounts, but I still have the issue of the trans vibration, which feels like its throught the entir car now, but it may be my wheels and tires, they're all new and possibly not balanced correctly, but that doesn't really affect the "palm massage" feeling in the trans

solid mounts are for racing only! a place where you only drive a 1/4 mile at a time and vibrations are not A big factor.

Yeah any luck with this yet? I agree solid mtr mnts are for racing, and if you want vibration put them on, but not to get rid of vibration. They give the vibration from the eng no place to go except straight to the frame. Look at that little guy go to town on that worn out Honda.
