if its an aftermarket cable there should be 2 nuts on the end of the cable where it goes through the clutch fork

if its a stock cable throw it in the garbage along with the self adjuster and get the steeda double adjustable cable and quadrent. the firewall adjuster is nice 2.the kit is only a $100 it works great.

^ sounds like a stock cable to me and since it's grabbing close to the floor it's too loose and is most likely stretched.

Do yourself a favor and don't get the adjustable clutch cable when you replace it.. it's lower quality and it's a pain in the ass to adjust. You'll have to install the cable, try it out and crawl under the car and adjust they the cable at the clutch fork then try it out again and if not good crawl under again blah blah blha sucks balls. Buy an OEM cable and pickup a steeda or such aluminum quadrant (replaces the shitty plastic one under the dash that cracks and stretches over time) and firewall adjuster which will be your way of adjusting the cable. Simple and easy to reach but if you do this and the adjustable cable then god you'll have to dick with both parts to dial in your clutch adjustment and it sucks trust me I've been trhough it.

Here's the best cable setup you can buy Clutch Cable, Quadrant, and Firewall Adjuster Package [MMCP-51] : Maximum Motorsports, the Latemodel Mustang Performance Suspension Leader!
