power gained from 347 stroker kit?

Hey guys, I was just wondering how much power a motor would put out that was a 347 stoker as apposed to a regular 5.0. Also is it worth it?

Using the exact same stock heads/cam/intake, which is stupid by the way, I saw a graph once showing about 40 horse at the crank.

Not worth is unless you're going to upgrade the top-end and everything else that goes with it. If you plan on that, then yes its worth it.

Sky's the limit on the parts you use. What's your budget, and what are your goals for the car?

I want to make at least 300 lb/ft and I don't really care about the horsepower whatever comes with the torque , possibly more if its not that much more money. And my budget is pretty much limitless all the my money I make is able to go into this car as i'm a student.

Which is it? What is your realistic budget, meaning, how much do you have in your hand to spend on this right now? I don't help participate in fantasy builds. And is your car currently a carb setup?

What I meant was I'm not going to spend 10 grand.. But Somthing like 1,000 or 2,000 wouldn't kill me. And yes it's carbed.

Not going to get anywhere with that budget realistically. That wouldn't do a good rotating assembly and machine work by itself. You better just look to keeping the stock displacement and going with explorer heads and a mild intake. Then the rest of the bolton's including a good carb (which I have no help for you there, cuz I don't know carbs).

Hmm Okay, How much would the explorer heads run me? And how much of a power increase could I expect from those an intake, 600cfm carb and some equal length headers?

Well, you should be able to come across them for 300 or less. Then new springs cuz they won't even hold the stock cam. I'd throw a mild cam in it while you're in there, and ditch the equal lenth idea. Too much of a pain in the ass for what they give you. Just do a good shorty header if you are trying to maintain your midpipe that you already have, or better yet, a nice set of longtube headers. I'd put you at no less than 30 more horse and 40lbs of torque depending on cam choice and intake.

Yeah I was just giving an example of a limit. I can't spend 10 grand on the car but something under 5 would be okay. I got a friend who can do all the machine work Ill I have to do is buy the kit..

for 5 you can do a good amount if your only spending money on parts

DART 331ci stroker, AFR 185 heads,
Trick Flow R intake,
Accufab 70mm tb, 75mm pro m Maf, 30lb injectors,
jba headers, 2 1/2" x pipe
flowmaster super 10 mufflers,
255 fuel pump,
3:27 gears

you said your goal was 300ftlbs of torque.

A $2500-$3500 head/cam/intake combo that has some thought into it will get you into the 310rwhp to 330rwhp and 320-340ft lbs of torque range without much trouble.

Maybe that is what you should be shooting for short term? until you can afford to upgrade the bottom end.
