Hello,

I currently have a t shifter in my manual trans. I want to put the a stock shifter back in it. Is it a simple pull out put in operation? Is there anything special I must do to replace it.

If you just want to change the Knob it just screws off.

Are you installing a Short throw?
Do you have the entire plate or just the Metal handle?

If you have the plate assembly then you will need to remove the Leather boot and the Rubber boot to access the top of the transmission. Then there is screws holding the plate to the trans. Remove them and lift the plate off.

If you just want to replace the Metal handle only then there is 2 screws under the leather boot holding the handle to the Little stub coming out of the transmission.

The plastic cover holding the leather boot just pops off.

Thanks, I went feeling around the boot and felt the screws to change the handle not the whole plate. Although I may need to put a short throw in it. It helps with not sctratch gears but I actually the handle travel distance when I am shifting. This way I can hear my 302 take those loooong deeeeep breaths!
