You wont feel shit.. You will hear a difference and prob will gain a couple a hp but not enough to feel.. Usually increasing your air intake only helps when you have things like heads cam intake ect. It is needed in that case to get the maximum out of those mods. With a nearly stock set up you wont notice a power gain..

If you want to get away from the biggest bottle necks on the car. Get a top end kit. The two biggest problems with these cars are the heads and lower intake.

Is your car speed density?

yes it is speed density a mass air flow is going to follow in the future but I dont have the $ for it right now thanks for the info ill put the money into something else on the car what

would be a good next mod for a limited budget to gain a little bit more power

I would say save the money and get a better H/C/I combo...If that messes up the speed density (i dont know if it does or not) then get a MAF conversion at the same time.

Pretty much as soon as you change the cam speed density is out the window. Go mass air or put a carb on it..

Can't you can keep stock pistons with the Twisted Wedges too, and their kit is about the same price.

Why not jsut get the GT40P heads off an explorer and save yourself some cash...Make sure and get the exhaust manifolds becuase the P heads have an angled spark plug compared to the regular GT40 heads which are straight out...The angle of the spark plugs gets it into the combustion chamber better...

then get a GT40 upper and lower intake off an explorer (would be nice to get it off the same one you got the heads off of) and put that on as well...

You could get all this for under $400 if you were thrifty at a junk yard, ebay, or on forums...

Then convert it over to MAF and get rid of that MAP $hit...

Go with a nice cam...

Nice throttle body...

Tune it alittle bit...

And then you have some fun on your hands...

The GT40P's come on the 97 - 01 Explorers...

The GT40's come on 1996 Explorers...

This is just from memory so some of it could be off alittle bit...

Iknow this post is old and has now turned ghey but I have some ram air experience to add. Back in the early 90s I was running a GT with a home made ram air kit. I bought a 6" dryer duct from Fleet Farm and ran it from the passenger side fog light hole to the oval hole in the factory air box. The car gained .15 and backed it up on numerous passes. So no you can't feel it but yes it does make a difference.
