I don't think I forgot anything, i double checked everything, i also took the intake off just in-case, i thought vacuum leak, re-sealed with new everything and started it up, idled @2000 again, ran for about 5 minutes, and shut it off because i noticed my headers were "glowing" red hot, about 30sec. later the loudest backfire i have ever heard...

also took carb to carb shop, he jerry rigged my vacuum secondaries to mechanical, i noticed they were also stuck open, could that cause my "glowing:, .. to much fuel?.. i know thats why it backfired, right????

Yeah be sure that vac hose that goes to the back of the carb is in. I was fixing my carb after getting all the parts on day and hooked it all back up even saw the vac hose behind the carb. Started it up smoothly, then the second I hit the gas, it started choking and coughing and stuff. So for the next 3 days looking at the heads and everything else, I found the vac hose wasn't in so plugged it in, then is revved like I accidently touched the back of a very very pissed lion that hasn't gotten any sleep for two days! LOL
