most radial skinnies suck as far as load limits, and tend to buldge. BFG has a 155/85/15 that I have used with no problems. as for an 8" rear, the sky is the limit. 245-275.

My rears are 275/50R15 MT drag radials, on an 8" rim. My fronts are 15X4, but I can't remember the tire size. I'll have to look when I'm home again.

ummm I've used a few different cheap brands for the front all 165's and never had a problem.. other then allignment eating them up at times but right now I have moroso ds2's on the front.
rear's i've had both 275/60/15 mt et radials and 27x10.5 hoosier quick time pros.. i've gone back to the mt's recently but the hoosiers are the tire to go with if you don't do much street driving.. |

Hey! Be a man and Run either 275/50/15 or what I run 275-60-15 on a 15x8 rim. And yeah the normal radial skinnies bulge hard core.. Im going with an actual drag front next time.. and on a fox the 27550/15's seem to fit nice with a little room, the 60's fill that bitch up haha

I run a 276/50 on my prostars to compensate for my 3.50 gears, and get the rpms up going through the traps. I had a 275/60 on my prostars, but with my old combo, it killed my 60' because it would dead hook and didnt have enough power to pull it out. With a shorter tire, I could keep the wheel speed up where it needed to be.
I run a 275/60 on my magnum 500s for street use because it looks better, and I spin them pretty easily on the street, so it helped with that, just the opposite way it worked with a shorter tire on the street.

275/50/15 is what I have on 8" weld draglites
I've posted the pictures of them a ton of times, but I can again if you'd like. BTW roll your fenders, after launching my car a few times, the fenders have taken a few bites out of the tires. buddy of mine owns a fender roller, so I'm going to get him to roll mine as soon as this POS is back on the road.

With the correct offset you won't have to roll your fenders with a 275 on a 8" draglite.. I say that because my gt's fenders are not rolled but the inner fenderwell area did need some clearancing.

when you clearance the inner fender do you literally just smack it with a hammer to get the needed room?

I ran a 165 on the front of mine when it was a street car, they are pep boys specials, and I don't think they carry them anymore. Last set I got for a friend were from tire rack. Shop around.

but my tires are pretty close to my tail pipes, so I guess if that sat in more, I would have to modify my tailpipes, and not my fenders, and I would rather deal with the fenders to be honest. thanks for posting though, the car looks cherry

dont you have a mac catback? that piece of shit wouldnt clear my cobras without spacers. Anyways found runners, think I got some 28" slicks for this weekend so might be able to go get some runs in without bangin on the limiter before the traps
