new throttle body old spacer

i jus bought the holley sytemax 2 upper and lower intake manifold and a bbk 70 mm throttle body, however i didnt get the 70mm egr spacer and im wondering how do i jus get rid of the egr spacer...? i saw one guy on here that jus had the throttle body connected to the intake manifold itself...
but can i run the throttle body with the stock spacer jus for now and still be on the safe side or will i have to get rid of it now.??

I would think as long as the egr valve is not in the picture it would be fine. And of course your air inlet will still work

the picture you saw probably had the egr system completely removed. this can be done, but it will throw off the computer. your egr has it's pros and cons. it doesn't hold a bunch of power to be gained or lost. there is some horsepower there. there is also the possibilty of raised combustion chamber temps. checks these links for more info. on egr systems:
