Pulling a 5.0 and AOD

We just pulled the 2.3 out of my 92 vert today to get it ready for the 5.0 swap. We left the automatic tranny connected and pulled everything together. Is it realistic to be able to do that with the 5.0 and AOD? It seems like it would be alot easier to seperate them when it is out of the car.

Thanks

Cool. We will plan on doing it that way. We had the front end jacked up as high as I could get it when we pulled the 2.3. We got the engine up high enough that the tail of the transmission was just into the engine bay, then we had to lower the car to get it the rest of the way out (the hoist would go any higher). Overall it went real smooth, it was the first time I have ever pulled an engine, my buddy who was helping had done it before. It took 2.5 hours start to finish, 1/2 hour was putting the hoist together though.
