What years the vehicle? Did you check fuses? check power to compressor?Check pressure switch or switches. Mine has two.

are you using gauges? whats your pressure? you may have freon but not enough to kick the clutch.

actually mine has an a/c clutch cycling pressure switch, an a/c clutch relay and a dual pressure switch. And just like stang fanatic asked...are you using gauges and what is the pressure.First with the car off and the gauges hooked up and then start the engine and see if there is any change in pressure.Let us know

dont tell anyone if you just depressed the shrader valve and released freon into the atmosphere...you might get a MM spanking for doing illegal things!

it is illegel to release freon into the air. but they sell freon in small cans with out a license to use or work on a/c's. i think they shouldn't allow it to be sold to just anyone.

haha kinda funny isn't it! my buddy is a mechanic & said that if someone who gets caught using the a/c machine & they aren't certified they get a massive fine... & you can go to wal-mart & get as many cans as you want charge your own system..

my friend took a vid of us working on my old car in there dealership. My ac wasn't working so the hooked it up to the machine, turned it on, ands all of a sudden......FREON everywhere.

We ran out the shop and all got a good laugh while this thing got taped. We put it on Utube and like 6 months later one of the managers saw it and went nuts. Needless to say that video has been removed for te internet.

I had sort of the same problem. My low pressure switch went bad and I was low on charge.
The way I fixed it was to bypass the switch long enough to get a charge to go in. The cans from wall mart have a gauge to show you if you are good or not. when it was good I stopped filling. I allso put a new low pressure switch on and My ac is the coldest it has ever been.

I'm sure glad they sell the cans at WalMart and auto stores, the stealership wanted $150 to do 10 minutes worth of work, I spent $10 at NAPA and now have AC again
