Back Fire.........
So when I gettin on the gas at higher rpm's (below red line
) as i shift there is a phat back fire.... i think its a back fire.... even when I get on it soft, after i shift it has a quieter back fireing sound.... i used to have a problem where it didnt idle right when first started up in the day so i turned down the timeing, to where it got a smoother idle... also when i have it in neutral and then come to a stop, it idles above 1k when i am above 15mph then drops down to 700 or 800 below 15..... still.. it idles amazingly smooth.... but any help would be appreciated... THANKS!!!Alex Last edited by ajr1230; April 10th, 2011 at 04:09 AM. |

for the idle issue, sounds like the speed sensor.
the the back firing, you are probably burning rich, or you could have a clog in your exhaust system, causing the gas fumes to build up.
