GT40P questions
I have searched this on here but couldn't find the answer to my question .... I have a completely stock 93 GT 5.0 I am interested in putting the GT40P heads on it... are there any performance gains with stock cam? Would 1.7 roller rockers benefit the motor?

rockers will def help out but you need to decide on how far you want to go,if you just do p heads i wouldnt expect alot personally i dont think there worth the hassle jmo but you add a custom cam and intake you will def have a good street car

Yes on both questions. The P heads are a little better then the regular 40's because of their smaller combustion chamber and different plug location. 1.7's will work fine with them. The best thing would be to have the heads freshened up. Good springs and seals will allow the heads to work at their best.

What springs and all do I need to freshen up the heads???? I wasn't planning on installing a cam anytime soon.. but I was looking at installing the Cobra intake with the 65mm throttle body.. or the BBK SSI intake with the 70mm throttle body... witch one would be better? After I install the heads I plan on installing the T56 with a .50 and 3.73 rear gears I'm looking for more gas mileage since its my daily driver.... what do y'all think?? Are the aluminum GT40X heads worth the money 64cc or 58cc?

Do the cam the same time you swap heads. Comp springs. SSI intake is shit (from what I hear)

Ok so BBK SSI intake sucks is there a better one out there? And are the GT40X Aluminium heads better than the GT40P heads and.. are they worth the money?

Yes, GT-40x heads are better than the p heads. No, they're aren't worth the price when there's much better aluminums out there for around the same price. If you're going to spend the money, you'll do a lot better with a set of trick flows.
All kinds of intakes better than the BBK. TF intakes and the systemax to name a couple. The victor EFI is a good intake too. Whatever intake you go with, get the TB sized to the intake opening. Anything less can become a bottelneck, Anything more will create a lip that can interfere with airflow. |

i understand, for budget/low budget projects its cool, but this is my way of thinking: there are cars with big blocks/blowers/turbos/Nitrous how do you expect to keep up with them running some junkyard explorer stuff,
now i know there is always going to be someone faster (its all about how deep ur pockets are) my thing is i atleast want a little chance lol

Dont waste your time you find some P heads what 150 bucks lets say..Now you want to make them "fresh" thats about another 100 bucks and while your doing that you should upgrade your springs so thats what another 100-200 bucks so all together thats 300-400 bucks for some stock heads with springs..O weeee bro on craigslist rite now i seen some alum SVO heads with 1.7 rockers for 600 OBO you just have to keep an eye out for deals i mean 800 bucks you can find aftermarket alum heads and twisted wedge heads ported for about 1000...YOu just got to search bro and while you do the heads, throw in a TSF1 or 2 cam or even a comp cam...
