Wink

Fire in the hole!!!!!!

FINALLY got it fired tonight. Once we get it up and going, I will make a good video, because this cell phone video sucks. It's hard to tell, but it's sounding decent. The valves aren't lashed, and the timing isn't set, and once we get those done, it should sound pretty good. Hopefully it runs well too.

Well, valves were lashed cold, with no run time. It's a hydraulic cam......sadly enough. So now that the lifters are pumped, and it has some time on it, they need to be lashed properly.

You'll still make good power with hydraulics. That one guy that runs an aluminum block 347 spins to 8500 with hydraulic lifters. flyin2jz I think his screen name is. I think he has to do some funny adjustments with them, but they work.

Lol....alright. Got me there I guess. We need to set the PRELOAD, and not the LASH.

I do think I have a problem though. I don't think there is any possible way my plan to keep the stock hood is going to work. That bitch sticks way out. I was going to cut the hood, but I really thought the cleaner would hide under the stock scoop, and the scoop actually be functional. I just don't think it's going to happen.

I was thinking just cut a hole in the hood, and leave the scoop off, so that the breather just sticks up. That would be awesome.

don't cut the hood man and an air breather sticking out would be ok on that car but it would hurt the clean-ness of the car's appearance.

The hood was going to be cut from the beginning. If it does fit as planned, noone will ever know. It seems like people read "cut hole on hood" and don't finish reading. If it works like I planned the breather will be under the scoop. It will not take away from the appearance at all, because you won't see it. If it won't fit under the scoop, there's no way in he'll I'm driving around with a breather sticking out of my hood. That's gay.

even if you have to custom fab another scoop that is wider and longer, that would still look awesome.
