Parts for an '83

I'm new to the Fox body scene I found my 83 with 160000 miles on it all stock. When I look for parts I've noticed that most say their for either 84 and up or 87 and up. Is there that much difference where I can put shorty headers on her or did the body really change that much?

Headers should be the same , but if you want to duel exhaust you nee to get a double hump tranny cross member off of a 86 and new mustang or go to summit or latemodelresto.com and get one. i think you can use the rest of the exhaust from a 86-93 mustang but you'll have to plug the O2 sensor ports in the mid pipe since there for fuel injection and you carb.

I'm not really sure of all the specifics of a 84 stang but a lot of parts are interchangeable between years but you may have to change a few things to make them work, for example the tranny cross member
