347 stroker afr head question!!!!!!


has anyone had problems with the valve springs becoming weak on an afr head, my buddy has a 347 stroker with afr heads roller rocker setup and number 6 keeps givin us problems

he use the stock shit springs the heads come with?

If he used the stock springs the problem isn't the heads, the problem is you. Those springs are not mae for the cam in the car. It's not shocking that theyd float... if thats your problem.

I can't believe manufacturers still sell heads and say the springs are good to X amount of lift. Valve springs don't work that way, and AFR come with shitty springs to begin with. Call the cam manufacturer and buy the springs they say you need for the cam.

he bought the car already with this setup and have all the receipts for the motor etc etc etc, and he asked me to come look at it since im the area mustang guy lol. but yeah thats what i suggested was to just get springs from trickflow or frpp springs that are suitable for his cam

If you have the time, I'd get the cam card and swap some good springs in.
